Getting Older Adults Online
Aging Connected is helping older adults get at-home internet and thrive online. Where to start? The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government benefit program that helps eligible low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices.

What we do
COVID-19 has disrupted our nation’s systems for social support, communications, and health care, revealing the critical importance of home internet as a lifeline for older adults. Yet nearly 22 million seniors over the age of 65 lack wireline broadband access at home, which can lead to potentially serious consequences. Aging Connected is a national, cross-sector campaign to bridge the digital divide and help older adults access essential public health information, social services, online community, and more through affordable, accessible internet.

With generous support from the Humana Foundation, we have a goal of getting older adults across the country better connected with at-home internet. By connecting and coordinating the efforts of telecommunications companies, nonprofit senior services providers, and public sector agencies, we aim to increase broadband connectivity among older adults and help seniors maximize the benefit of technology use for health, social engagement, and other essential outcomes.
